Both Long and Opara are strong options with the pace, defending, and physical attributes to keep opposing attackers out of the box. Opara's base card has 84 pace and 82 physical as a 75-rated card. Ike Opara is one of the best cheap defenders in the entire game. There are no good options at goalkeeper in the MLS. Vermeer is a usable card, but Zack Steffen is slightly better. The United States product has good reflexes and all of the other relevant stats in the 70s. Steffen is by no means a great goalkeeper, but he is a serviceable option for the team. With a chemistry card, the goalkeeper will perform better than players assume in-game. FC 25 Ultimate Team players can only hope that one of the MLS keepers gets an upgraded card sometime soon.
Nani and Pizarro are the best cards that did not make it into the squad. Nani just does not have enough quickness to be viable on the wing. Clubs should sub him into the midfield to take advantage of the card's dribbling and passing. Pizarro could easily replace Nagbe, but his dribbling leaves something to be desired. Higuain is another player that could be included, but with pace in the 60s, it is hard to justify starting the card. There are also a number of cheap in-forms that would have made the team, but many casual gamers are better off using the less expensive base gold cards.
